Planning a trip to Park City this summer? Be sure to read this helpful resource to stay up-to-date with what is happening in Park City. Park City has seen a large influx of vacationers booking 30+ day stays this summer. With so many jobs becoming virtual as a result of the Pandemic, folks have the flexibility to work from anywhere. What better way to escape congestion than heading up to a mountain city with all the modern conveniences of many urban areas.
General Housekeeping
Effective June 27th – Sept 1st, 2020, Face coverings are required to be worn in all publicly accessed indoor spaces or queuing for publicly accessed indoor establishments in Park City. This includes all small businesses, workout facilities and rec centers. Face coverings may be removed in a restaurant once guests are seated. Face coverings are also required outdoors by groups larger than 50. Law enforcement’s approach to enforcement is education first. Summer Activities
The following attractions are open for summer activities, with slight adjustments from years past to accommodate social distancing standards.
Deer Valley Resort is open for daily summer operations. Lift-served mountain biking, hiking and scenic chairlift rides, rentals, lessons, lodging operation, Deer Valley Grocery~Café, Royal Street Café, The Silver Lake Snack Shack, Main Street Signatures store, and meetings and special occasions are all open for summer operations. Please note: All summer chairlift operations will begin at Snow Park. The Ticket Office, Rental Shop and Signatures store located at Silver Lake will not be open this summer.
Lift-served activities are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily through September 7th, then Saturdays and Sundays only through September 20th, 2020. Guests are encouraged to pre-purchase lift tickets online as Deer Valley Resort is operating with limited on-mountain capacity. Day of tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Park City Mountain Resort is open for summer activities Thursday-Sunday till September 7th, 2020. Activities include: Alpine Slide, Mountain Coaster, Lift-served Mountain Biking and Scenic Lift Rides. Please note: All summer chairlift operations are run through Payday and Crescent. Canyons Village will not be open for lifts or summer activities. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office. Click here for information regarding pricing.

Utah Olympic Park was built for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Utah Olympic Park is located in Park City, Utah. The nearly 400 acre venue houses one of only four sliding tracks in North America, six Nordic ski jumps, a 2002 Winter Games museum, and a multitude of adventure activities.
Summer activities currently open through July 31st, 2020 include: Alpine Slide, Extreme Tubing, Summer Extreme Zipline, Summer Freestyle Zipline, Summer Discovery Ropes Course, Nordic Chairlift and Free Museums. The attractions can be experienced a la carte or through two pass options.
The Trackside Pass includes use of the Airbag Jumps, Canyon Adventure Course and Summit Adventure Course during a two-hour block. Click here for hours, course requirements and to book your pass.

Park City is offering Pedestrian Only Sundays on Main Street through September 6th. We haven’t seen this special feature since the 2002 Olympic Games! Shops, cafes and restaurants are expanding into the street to welcome visitors to the district. On-street merchant activation (dining, shopping, and experiences) will vary each week. Remember to bring and wear your face coverings when appropriate. Thrill-seekers – seek no further, Utah’s longest mountain coaster opens July 2nd! If the Mountain Coaster is too extreme try the Alpine Slide! Fun for all ages! Click here for tickets and updated reopening dates.
Also opening July 2nd is the Kids Ropes Course and Zipline at Park City Mountain. Providing kid-size challenges on the ropes course and kid-size thrills down the zip line! Perfect for an activity for all the kids in your family, closed-toe shoes required!
Looking to beat the heat? Park City offers several water sports and swimming options. Enjoy a day in the pool at the MARC Aquatic Center, have fun on the water slide and water playground! Click here for tickets.
Prefer freshwater swimming, no problem! Visit the scenic Jordanelle Reservoir and plan to stay the whole day. You can rent a kayak or give paddleboarding a try. The Jordanelle Reservoir has everything you need to enjoy the day on the water. https://www.jordanellerentals.com/ The marina is located in Jordanelle State park, while you are there you could also spend time on hiking trails or enjoy an afternoon of bird watching. On the eastern side of the park is the Rock Cliff Recreation Area, here you will find elevated boardwalks, interpretive tour guides across wetlands and rivers.
One of Utah’s most unique water experience is a dip in the Homestead Crater. The Crater is a geothermal spring, hidden within a 55-foot tall, beehive-shaped limestone rock located on the Homestead property. Crater reservations can be made by phone for more information you can view their website here. This Crater is by far one my favorite fun summer activities in Park City for families and couples!
Take in the calm evening waters of the Deer Valley Ponds with a free fly casting lesson and tips from experts. Bonus points if you have your own rod, a limited number of rods will be provided. Once you have mastered casting there are many other fly fishing opportunities in Park City’s rivers. Head to where the Provo River carves right through the Heber Valley and rolls down Provo Canyon.
Summer brings excitement back to the hills of Park City, once the snow has melted visitors have access to over 90 hiking trails! Many family-friendly hikes and opportunities to learn about the history of Park City. Try a guided hike to a silver mine with a local tour guide, learn all about the silver mining town that Park City once was and how it became the world-famous ski destination.
The historic Heber Valley railroad provides a great opportunity for families to ride the rails as they did in 1899. Looking for a themed outing, the Heber Creeper offers many themed rides including a fun Harry Potter Themed Wizard’s Train. Throw on your cloak, grab your wand, and enjoy the ride! Don’t miss the train on your list of fun summer activities in Park City for families and couples.
You will definitely work up an appetite engaging in any of these activities, treat yourself to some local fare, and a beautiful drive out to Midway. Dairy Keen has been famous for its hand-dipped shakes, burgers, and fries since 1946!

Park City Restaurants Open for Dine-in Services

Park City is renowned for its culinary cuisine and understandably all restaurants were required to close shop during the Summit County ‘Stay at Home Order.’ Many restaurants were able to pivot and offer curbside pick-up and delivery throughout the early stages of the pandemic. On May 1st, 2020 Summit County lifted the ‘Stay at Home Order’ and moved to the Stabilization Phase of the COVID-19 response. Over the past month, Park City’s restaurants have worked tirelessly to bring their establishments up to code with the new Joint Public Health Order. Several Park City restaurants are now open for dine-in services.
