Prefer freshwater swimming, no problem! Visit the scenic Jordanelle Reservoir and plan to stay the whole day. You can rent a kayak or give paddleboarding a try. The Jordanelle Reservoir has everything you need to enjoy the day on the water. The marina is located in Jordanelle State park, while you are there you could also spend time on hiking trails or enjoy an afternoon of bird watching. On the eastern side of the park is the Rock Cliff Recreation Area, here you will find elevated boardwalks, interpretive tour guides across wetlands and rivers.

One of Utah’s most unique water experience is a dip in the Homestead Crater. The Crater is a geothermal spring, hidden within a 55-foot tall, beehive-shaped limestone rock located on the Homestead property. Crater reservations can be made by phone for more information you can view their website here. This Crater is by far one my favorite fun summer activities in Park City for families and couples!

Take in the calm evening waters of the Deer Valley Ponds with a free fly casting lesson and tips from experts. Bonus points if you have your own rod, a limited number of rods will be provided. Once you have mastered casting there are many other fly fishing opportunities in Park City’s rivers. Head to where the Provo River carves right through the Heber Valley and rolls down Provo Canyon.

Summer brings excitement back to the hills of Park City, once the snow has melted visitors have access to over 90 hiking trails! Many family-friendly hikes and opportunities to learn about the history of Park City. Try a guided hike to a silver mine with a local tour guide, learn all about the silver mining town that Park City once was and how it became the world-famous ski destination.

Looking for a themed outing, the Heber Creeper offers many themed rides including a fun Harry Potter Themed Wizard’s Train. Throw on your cloak, grab your wand, and enjoy the ride! Don’t miss the train on your list of fun summer activities in Park City for families and couples.

You will definitely work up an appetite engaging in any of these activities, treat yourself to some local fare, and a beautiful drive out to Midway. Dairy Keen has been famous for its hand-dipped shakes, burgers, and fries since 1946!

For a list of Dine-in restaurants click here. Alternatively, if you’re looking for something quick and easy, there’s nothing easier to eat on the go than a slice of pizza. Give Davanza’s a try! (We highly recommend a slice of the House Special.) Located right off Main St. in downtown Park City, take your slice and head over to Town Lift Plaza. If you have little ones with you there is lots of space for them to run! Click here to view their menu.
